Organic Cantaloupes

Farm Fresh and Certified Organic

Related to honeydews and watermelons, the cantaloupe gets its name from Catalupe, Italy where they were believed to be first cultivated in the mid-18th century. Their firm, rough-textured rind is contrasted by a moist, sweet orange to peach-colored flesh and accented by their unique, fresh fragrance. Cantaloupe is an excellent source of vitamin C, beta carotene for conversion to vitamin A and potassium to help balance sodium intake. Like other melons, they are best eaten raw, but are very versatile and can complement just about any meal from breakfast fruit to dinner entrées like prawns, scallops, calamari then finished off as a refreshing dessert with ice cream.
